Facebook lets you schedule a post in a group only if you are its admin or moderator: the clock icon in the post window sets the date and time. If you are a regular member, Facebook offers no such option; you need a tool like Farsem, which schedules the post from your account, in one or several groups, with recurrence if needed.
Schedule a post as a member with Farsem
- Open "New post" — From your Farsem space, after connecting your Facebook account.
- Write and illustrate — Text, photos or video. Choose to post as a profile or as a Page.
- Choose the groups — Tick one or several groups in your list, or a whole category.
- Set the schedule — Start date, end date, posting time. For recurrence, choose "every day" or the weekdays you want.
- Confirm — The campaign appears in your planner. You can edit or stop it at any time, and see the status per group after each run.
Native method: scheduling as an admin
- Open the group and click in the "Write something" box.
- Write the post, add visuals.
- Click the clock icon (or "Schedule" depending on the interface) and pick the date and time.
- Confirm: the post appears in the group's "Scheduled posts", where you can edit it.
Limits: one post at a time, one group, no recurrence, and the option does not appear unless you are an admin or moderator.
Why don't members have this option?
Facebook reserves scheduling for the people who run the group. For a member, the post goes out when they click. Mainstream scheduling tools no longer fill that gap since the Groups API closed to third-party apps in 2024.
What time should you post in a group?
- Local classifieds and buy-and-sell groups: early morning (7 to 9 am) and end of day (6 to 9 pm).
- Professional groups: mid-morning on weekdays.
- Avoid posting at the same time as everyone else in a very active group: shift by half an hour.
- Test two slots for two weeks and compare the comments received; Farsem's per-group report is made for that.
Farsem
A Farsem campaign can run for several weeks with the same post, or alternate several texts and visuals to avoid repetition.
